Job description Primary Responsibility: This role is responsible for the Management and Coordination of Production, Maintenance & Engineering, and HSEQ for in order to ensure the most effective return on assets of the Polycarbonate (PC) and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Films business at Bayer MaterialScience s South Deerfield Manufacturing facility. This position has extensive managerial responsibility and reports directly to the Vice President & General Manager of Bayer s Functional Films business.

Major tasks and responsibilities:
Lead the development of site operations personnel in order to run the production and development of TPU/PC Film Production facility in a safe, compliant and cost efficient manner, with consistent quality and competitive lead times.
Implement continuous improvement processes for safe, efficient, and effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel.
Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards exceed customers expectations.
Manage multi-million dollar budget in order to ensure spending is controlled in relation to changes in production volume.
Identify and investigate variances from standards with regard to material costs, labor, and budgets to implement corrective actions as needed.
Select and maintain equipment, supervise product standards and enforce quality-control programs.
Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Materials Management in order to determine the level of production needed to ensure customer s needs and expectations are consistently met.
Continuously review and monitor Production in order to maintain and exceed established gross margin targets.
Ensure operations remain in full compliance with internal & external customers, Legal, HSEQ, and other applicable sources.
Investigate, train, and implement new Process Technology to maintain technological leadership in the marketplace.
Define, build and secure IP with focus on technology.

Your qualifications Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in a technical field (i.e. engineering, material science, computer science);
10+ years experience in technical product manufacturing and development;
5+ years manufacturing management experience, including personnel responsibility and development;
Extensive technical expertise in production and development of film/sheet, preferably TPU and/or PC films;
Strong negotiation skills with internal and external contacts;
Proven leadership skills in a challenging and complex business environment;
Strong communication and influencing skills to deal effectively with internal and external contacts regionally and globally;
Project prioritization, management and planning skills;
Customer relationship building experience and ability to design effective commercial presentations;
Capital investment experience with proven skills in the proposal and implementation of investments, disinvestments, restructuring and improvement projects.
