What Does This Job Do?

A Selector works individually selecting full case grocery items from a warehouse pick slot. The selector fits these items on a pallet (Are you good at Tetris?), plastic wraps the bundles, and in some cases, loads them onto a trailer. In some locations, order sheets are used and the selector affixes selection labels to the appropriate cases. In other locations, audio headsets are used and the selector hears the item in the order to be picked from the slot.

Your safety is our ultimate concern so Steel Toed shoes are required.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties following; other duties may be assigned:

* Ensure accuracy of work and adherence to production and safety standards.
* Use a headset or pick sheet to find individual items within warehouse
* Remove full case(s) of product from storage rack and place on pallet
* In some cases, affix selection labels to the appropriate cases
* Maneuver pallet on an electric pallet jack until full or order is complete
* Ensure item pick accuracy and safety of product to prevent damage
* Inform supervisor of any discrepancies in case quantity and/or product description
* Manually wrap the pallet by circling load with roll of plastic wrap until secure

Physical Requirements:

Frequent- stooping, balancing, and hearing

Occasional- pushing, sitting, feeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, gripping of items ranging from under 20 lbs to over 60 lbs

Description of Work Environment:

Temperature of freezer warehouses can range from -20 to -10 Fahrenheit. Steel toed shoes are required

Qualifications:

Requirements:

* GED or High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
* Warehouse experience preferred but not necessary
* Ability to work overtime is required
* Working Safely is a Condition of Employment at C&S
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
